Logo Wave :: Rebrand (collab w/ Alen Pavlovic)

Logo Wave

Whale of a rebrand 🐋

As this logo awards competition has grown, we've attracted larger design studios/agencies, as well as veteran independent designers. We've added more trophies/prizes, and arguably have the top design jury out there :)

But with this platform morphing into a leading design awards competition, the visual communications had yet to catch up.

We were humbled for the chance to partner with my buddy, the incredibly talented Alen Pavlovic.

The idea of a whale and the creativity associated with these fascinating creatures kept coming up as whales communicate in a distinct way both through sonar and echo-location. A resulting mark based on pure circular geometry came to be – much like when you throw a stone in the water and waves emit from the center point.

The logo highlights the whale's communication, high frequency signals, and tail water splashes. The mark talks to the idea of Logo Wave being a platform for top-notch logo design and spreading the word on behalf of our designers – communication about (visual) communication.

Pattern elements are also inspired by parts of the logo itself, with 9 basic elements represented. Logo Wave is fortunate to help bring exposure and advocate for creatives and creative agencies globally.

It's a responsibility we never take lightly. In the end, this design awards competition was built by designers, for designers. To build up and support our fellow designers in this way is a genuine honor and privilege. Thanks so much to our participants, jury, and everyone who has helped make Logo Wave exist!
